Get ready for a prehistoric planting party like no other! Jurassic Planters is a fun, hands-on event designed well suited for kids ages 5 and up. Hosted at The Greenhouse Nursery, this interactive workshop invites young gardeners to unleash their creativity by building their very own miniature dino-themed planter to take home.
We’re dividing Jurassic Planters into multiple time slots to keep group sizes small and the experience enjoyable for everyone. Each session is designed to last about 20-30 minutes, giving kids plenty of space, materials, and one-on-one help as they create their dino-themed planter. Parents are welcome to stay and work alongside their children during the event or explore the rest of the nursery.
Kids under age 5 are welcome with a parent’s help and supervision during the workshop.
Each child will be provided with all the supplies they need to create a one-of-a-kind prehistoric scene:
- One small live plant (perfect for little hands to care for)
- Decorative rocks and moss for imaginative landscapes
- A selection of dinosaur figures to bring their planter to life
Kids will have the freedom to design their own dino habitat while also having the support and encouragement of our helpful staff!
Plus, it’s educational too! During the workshop, kids will get the chance to learn about and interact with the types of plants eaten by prehistoric herbivores! It’s a great way to spark curiosity about both plants and ancient life.
We’ll also be providing a small snack during the event to keep our young adventurers energized while they work on their masterpieces. After the planting, families are encouraged to join for a dinosaur track scavenger hunt around the property!
