Job Title: Garden Center Sales & Yard Associate

We are a locally owned garden center serving homeowners and landscapers throughout Cache Valley. Our team is passionate about plants, customer service, and creating beautiful outdoor spaces suited specifically for Northern Utah’s climate.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hardworking, customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. This position combines sales, plant care, physical labor, and hands-on outdoor work. The ideal candidate enjoys working outside, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and finds satisfaction in a productive, physically active day.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Educate customers on proper planting techniques and care guidelines

  • Provide accurate plant recommendations for Cache Valley’s climate

  • Operate POS software and handle customer transactions

  • Create and maintain attractive plant displays

Physical & Outdoor Work

  • Regularly lift, load, and move large/heavy plants and materials

  • Unload tree trucks and incoming plant shipments

  • Work outdoors in hot and cold conditions (within reason)

  • Restock inventory and water plants as needed

Operations & Equipment

  • Operate machinery (training provided), including:

    • Skid steer

    • Articulated loader

    • Chainsaw

    • Blower

  • Assist with deliveries and landscape installs throughout Cache Valley

Property & Plant Maintenance

  • Yard and plant maintenance (pruning, deadheading, weeding, upkeep)

  • Assist with irrigation repair and installation

  • Support landscape installation, grading, and other property projects

Schedule Requirements

  • Part-time through April

  • Full-time May–August

  • Part-time after September

  • Required availability:

    • All Saturdays in May and June

    • Regular Saturday shifts outside peak season

    • No time off permitted in May

    • Some holidays during peak season

Preferred Experience

  • Plant knowledge or horticulture training

  • Customer service experience
