Mock Bearberry is one of the better choices here for dry western landscapes. It comes from a Colorado hybrid selected off the Uncompahgre Plateau and is valued for its evergreen groundcover habit, early pink-white urn-shaped flowers, red berries on established plants, and strong drought tolerance. It makes the most sense on slopes, in rock gardens, or anywhere you want a natural-looking evergreen that does not feel formal.
